A cruel fact of life is that mobile operators have a vested interest in building out their networks in areas where there are customers, not where there aren't any. Those towers are expensive, and they want a return. Unfortunately, that means those of us who enjoy puttering around the vast open spaces that make up most of the United States can't get a signal. What if you're traveling through remote areas, and want to economically make calls and browse the Web?
